Restaurante FREU, which has been listed as one of the best restaurants in Spain by the most prestigious guides in the country, is located within Hotel Guitart Monterrey in Lloret de Mar.
It is a highly personal space characterised by excellent design, simplicity and quality - three attributes that are also very evident in Freu’s cuisine. The materials that particularly stand out are its wood, rusted iron and glass, and especially eye-catching are the charming vine-covered terrace and the hand-made restaurant menu.
The menu features classic fare and more sophisticated dishes. The star of the show however is Freu’s Tasting Menu, prepared with seasonal produce and accompanied by paired wines.
Pep Arbós’ professional career highlights include his work at the one-Michelin-star Restaurante Ca l’Isidre in Barcelona, his travels around Italy where he learned about the country’s rich cuisine and his position as head chef at the prestigious Aloña Barri - an indispensable destination for lovers of San Sebastian’s cuisine in miniature.
